ATTLEBORO, Massachusetts | December 21, 2009 | Sensata Technologies, Inc. is announcing that Martin Carter has joined the company as Senior Vice President for the Controls Global Business, including Sensata’s worldwide Electrical Protection, Power Protection, and Inverters businesses.

Before joining Sensata, Carter served as the Vice President and General Manager of Kaiser Aluminum from 2007 to 2009. At Kaiser, he was responsible for leading a diversified manufacturing base of extrusion, fabrication and forging operations serving the automotive, transport, distribution and general engineering markets.

Previously, Carter had a 17-year career with Norsk Hydro, another large global business serving diversified markets. He was President of Hydro Aluminum North America and Norsk Hydro North America from 2001 to 2007.

Commenting on Carter’s appointment, Sensata’s Chief Operating Officer Martha Sullivan said, “Martin brings deep experience in global business management, mergers and acquisitions, strategy development and growth. His strong customer-facing skills, international experience, and record of growth will be a major asset to Sensata.”

Carter has an M.B.A. from IMC, United Kingdom and a B.S. degree in civil engineering from the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom.
